The fight against the coronavirus: Teleconsultation for everyone

Video consultations can offer help with practical questions related to your health, when the regular GP is difficult to reach and certainly when you want to avoid physical contact in the current exceptional circumstances. As of today, AXA will deploy doctors who can be consulted online, to help slow down the rapid spread of the corona virus.

In these circumstances, it seems only natural to expand our existing video consultation platform with doctors, and make it available free of charge as part of our common fight against the coronavirus. We are doing this to fulfil our social responsibility and we want to make a very solid contribution to #samentegencorona (together against corona). Together, we are stronger against this virus!

The service is specifically designed for those who feel ill and suspect they are infected with the coronavirus. That is why, just like customers who have taken out hospitalization insurance with AXA, other people will have access to this service, as an exception and completely free of charge, during the coming weeks and through to the end of the Easter holidays. This initiative is in line with the advice not to visit general practitioners, but to contact them by telephone instead.

How do you have a video consultation with “Doctors Online”?

The patient can speak in person to a doctor during a video consultation. The service is available 7 days a week, from 09:00 to 18:00.

1. Go to axa.be and contact us to request a video consultation with a doctor.
2. You will then receive a confirmation of the appointment by text message or e-mail, with a link and unique access code to proceed to the virtual waiting room.
3. At the time of the appointment, the doctor will start the video consultation. So, you need a computer, laptop, tablet or smartphone with an internet connection and a camera.

We are making every effort to guarantee optimal support, given the exceptional circumstances. These digital video consultations with the doctors are available in Dutch, French and English. This service is also available for Belgians who are currently travelling abroad.
