Teleconsultation, an online consultation for times when you are not allowed to leave your home

A digital medical consultation helps patients when they are in doubt about corona symptoms. A doctor can reassure the patient or refer him or her to a hospital through a video consultation. If a doctor says that the patient should stay at home, follow-up can be carried out at a later date to monitor the situation.

There are many reasons why a video consultation with a doctor is extremely suitable for giving people guidance now, and to help them take the right steps.  Primary care remains guaranteed, while teleconsultation supports the reduction of contamination risks.

Why use this?

For the population:

•    Unnecessary movements and physical contact are avoided
•    EImmediate medical advice is available to provide guidance on the best things to do. Even when the doctor is not available or during times outside office hours
•    Teleconsultations help against overloading of waiting areas, which reduces the risk of infections
•    Illnesses can be monitored without the patient having to move.

For our healthcare:

•    Faster detection: patients are more likely to ask a doctor when in doubt
•    Better flow and relief of primary care: teleconsultation GPs are better able to advice what action the person should take or where to turn
•    Teleconsultations free up doctor time for consultations that can only be done on the spot
•    Care is accessible 24/7

But how does a Teleconsultation actually work? It is easy – the person calls in, answers a few questions and then gets a consultation appointment with a doctor within 30 minutes. Day and night, including weekends. Then, at the time the patient has chosen, he or she uses a unique access code and has the video consultation. The doctor gives them practical advice or a diagnosis, or refers them to a specialist, general practitioner or the emergency services. What if the patient needs medication? The doctor will then issue the prescription online. The doctor's report is automatically added to your customer's medical file afterwards.

AXA Partners is the first company in Belgium to offer the digital GP. You can easily add our teleconsultation service to your offering to your customers, or offer it to your employees.
